A Home Away From Home
The Royal Terrace in Palmerston has been home to many of our senior citizens who have had to transition from their own homes into the next chapter in their lives. This seniors residence, whether it be long term care or Retirement, offers loving, supportive care to its residents.
I personally have a family member residing in LTC and this “young” senior refers to The Terrace as his “home”. In the past I have also had a family member transition from the residential side of the facility to long term care and can tell you the staff – from administration, to the nurses, aids, kitchen, laundry, to the maintenance staff, is first rate. Each and every one of the people employed are committed to having the residents receive the best care possible and that each resident live in a respectful and dignified manner.
The “home” atmosphere sees the residents active in activities each and every day, if they so choose to become involved. They are encouraged to take part in such things as bingo, crafts, readings, Bible Study, Church services, coffee time, cards, games, movies, frequent live entertainment ….. the list goes on. One of the favourite outings the residents take part in is the bus excursions – and family and friends are encouraged to take part in as much as they can.
Now that I am retired myself I try to volunteer as much as I can….. it’s fun and rewarding!!!
I have known the owners of this facility for many years and I feel confident in saying that Kash and Norma Ramchandani welcome residents, visitors and the community with open arms. Kash and Norma have been the only owners of this facility and the prior senior residence – Clarkwood Estates in Palmerston for a combined 40 years.
A “home away from home” is how I classify The Royal Terrace where respect, dignity, good will, and concern is shown each and every day.
